The Small Universe -- A Discussion for Course Participants
I have a question about practising the Small Universe, so I thought this would be a good topic to place it in. I learned the Small Universe last month in Langkawi.
Sometimes, when doing the first stage, the Dan Tian breating, the Small Universal Chi Flow starts flowing. My middle body starts moving/ flowing with the Small Universe then.
Now I just let go for a moment, and then I go through the other stages. Is that correct or should I just let go from the first time, just enjoy the Small Universe Chi Flow and complete the practise?
Remember it's not Dan Tian Breathing, it's Abdominal Breathing - they're completely different skills.
Dan Tian Breathing is 'press, release, press, release'.
Abdominal Breathing is 'in/out, out/in', from the mouth to the Dan Tian.
(I apologise if the directions read as vague but they're intended to remind, not instruct).
Personally, I find my Small Universe is always flowing and even more so when practicing it. I just let the the thought go and focus on the practice, not the sensation. Are you training it in Goat Stance, or standing?
Hello there Siheng! Very nice to meet you here online
Remember it's not Dan Tian Breathing, it's Abdominal Breathing - they're completely different skills.
Thank you for reminding me. Those reminders are very clear, thank you.
What I mean is, sometimes, the flow comes, and moves my body. I'm still standing, not changing place, it's just my middle body following the flow. And then I want to drop my hands and enjoy the flow. This creates a pauze, instead of moving on to the next stage.
It's not really a problem offcourse, it's just that I was wandering if it is enough to just enjoy the flow, and complete practise, instead of going through all stages everytime.
This is also when doing Big Universe. A few repetitions and the flow is there, it feels there is no need to do anything else but to drop hands and enjoy the flow.
I try not to intellectualize and hold on to sensations, but in practise this thought came up to just ask here on the forum.
I'm training it standing, I only tried it a couple of times in Goat Stance for now.
