  • Can you find the mistakes (Dragon and Tiger Appear - Shaolin Greeting)?

    Hello everyone,

Which 3 mistakes can you find in my performance of the Shaolin greeting "Dragon and Tiger Appear"?

    Have fun!

      You're so right!

What is the reason for Andrew Siheng making this statement, folks?

      What have I done wrongly?

        Hey Wahnam Family o\

First the Unicorn step is missing.

Secound you don´t sit in the false leg stand but the upper body is leaning forward

Last and importend the tiger (the fist) twisting out and it can be interpreted as an insult.

        all the best
        o\

The trajectory of the hand salute is also wrong from the anti-Qing Shaolin revolutionary point of view...but correct from the Shaolin Wahnam standpoint ..

Thank you Damian Siheng for sharing the video. I now have a clearer understanding of why our Shaolin salute is used as a means of identification by the anti-Qing revolutionaries.

                Hello,

Two of the mistakes have been found!

But not number 3: My shoulders are rounded forward, which can result in chi locking up in the chest area. Better have an open chest and an open heart!

                Here is the solution video:

                  Dear Leo,

How time flies, another video with mistakes came and the problems have already been found and solved.

I take it the number of days for one to find the mistakes in the videos is 4 days, before the solution is posted?

                        Quoted from our Sifu in a Q&A series ( # 3 & 4 )

" In a Shaolin greeting the left palm symbolizes a dragon and the close right fist symbolizes a tiger. The dragon and the tiger are the two most frequent of the Shaolin five animals in Southern Shaolin Kungfu.

It is reputed when a Shaolin disciple passed his graduation test as he came out of the Lane of 108 Wooden Dummies at the southern Shaolin Monastery, probably on the Nine-Lotus Mountain, there was a big bronze tripod barring his way. He had to lift the big tripod by embracing it, turn around with the tripod in his arm, then walk out of the Lane of 108 Wooden Dummies. As he did so, the marks of a dragon and a tiger were imprinted on his left arm and right arm. "
