Hi, if you want to improve quicker at tiger claw pushups then doing it twice a day will help, from my experience. Initially I practised normal push ups for a bit to build up my strength.

Also do flowing breeze swaying willows afterwards for more benefit. This is what Sifu Wong showed us. Interestingly I found the push up made my toes stronger, meaning I can now kick with my toes.

Also you should get enough sleep.

A brief status update: it's been a little over four months since my last post on this matter.
I'm now up to about 10 reps with regular Taming the Tiger. I'm very careful not to overtrain this powerful exercise, so I'm progressing very gradually. I practice this exercise every other day.
As Sijat Nick advised, I built up some jing in my fingers, though I used mostly Hungry Tiger Charges at Prey from the 18 Lohan Arts, as well performing Taming the Tiger from the knees as in the photo below:

I do experience powerful flows afterward---the exercise is quite powerful. This could be my perception, but I feel like my fingers have gotten bigger. They certainly feel more flush with power while I'm in Qi flow after the exercise. If I have time, I like performing Fierce Tiger Cleanses Claws afterward to help stimulate cleansing after Taming the Tiger. One Finger Shooting Zen afterward is also a nice complement.
If any of the above are ill-advised, I certainly welcome corrections or comments.

      Happy Training!
      Chow

Edit I did experience momentary soreness and stiffness in the fingers, or sometimes tingling in the tips of the fingers. That's when I would "take a step back" and slow down my training. These effects would go away after a day's rest. On the off days I would still do One Finger Shooting Zen.
