It is amazing to hear the detailed pattern by pattern description of genuine Shaolin Kung Fu being used in life threatening attacks. Its great to know what Sitaigung's choice of techniques was.
The short break in posting was brought about by attending the excellent combined course recently. It was a real gem.
I have some great news.
After attending dinner with Sifu and family, my brothers Damien, Jamie, Wuji and I were treated to a real Kung Fu culture tour of Penang by Sifu, and all from the comfort of an Air-con people carrier!
Special thanks goes out to Wei Foong and Chuna Nga aswell, for driving us and for taking pictures of the event.
Yes guys, I will be posting pictures very soon, including pictures of Sifu's first training hall!

Dear Sisook
That's fantastic news. I am very much looking forward to it.
Is there a chance that in future there will not only be a "Penang Heritage Tour" but also a "Shaolin Wahnam and Kungfu Heritage Tour" for participants at the intensive courses?

When attending the ‘Special Combined’ course recently in Penang, Malaysia a few of my brothers and I had the good fortune to attend dinner with Sifu and some of his family. Actually it was Peter, Wei Foong’s kind husband who treated to us to an excellent vegetarian meal. It was so good in fact that for the first 10 minutes my Scottish brother Jamie wasn’t even aware it was a vegetarian restaurant as the ‘meat’ dishes they served us were so realistic!
After the dinner we all jumped into a people carrier and Sifu asked if we would like to see some of the places in Penang mentioned in his Autobiography. Off course, we all agreed it would be a great idea.
The impromptu tour really did bring many of the vivid descriptions you have read in these pages to life. Unfortunately I can’t reproduce all of the photos taken that night, but I do have some good ones, so enjoy!
Below is a quick snapshot of the first building Sifu ever learnt Kung Fu in from Uncle Righteousness. As you can see, it was built in 1928 and is on 'Love Lane' in Georgetown, Penang. Sifu must have trained in there from the 1950’s onwards.
We arrived just before the caretakers were closing the building for the night. The building is now used a social club for playing Chinese Chess, however the history of the building is ingrained in the building in thr form of many historic photos that hang on the walls. The two kindly gentlemen who look after the building allowed us a quick tour. Sifu said that one of the gentlemen was a little boy when he had trained there so many years agao, although he now actually looked considerably older than Sifu.
We went through to the back of the building and found the room where Sifu first trained Kung Fu a child, see the picture below. Even the alter that Sifu cleaned on a daily basis was still in the same place! (its in the right hand corner)
Most of you will remember the description given by Sifu when he had to turn up early for Kung Fu class to sweep the hall and tidy the alter before training.
Thanks for bringing back such great memories from our recent time in Penang, and thanks for continuing this great thread.
I thought I'd share this picture from the Kwoon of Uncle Righteousness; in the background are the weapons that Sigung used to practice with and you may also notice two handsome warriors...
Thanks to my Bro's for the lovely pics as well as for the reminder how Sifu started his training under Sigung Lai!
Very inspiring indeed!
