    Interesting topic.

    I've personally found when I've really pushed myself too hard & found it particularly difficult to wind down mentally/physically, that camomile tea, eating a banana (for the tryptophan), & taking a 5HTP supplement before bed has really helped.

    Lots of others relaxation things have helped me too (hot bath w/ epsom salts, aromatherapy, listening to binaural beats/shamanic drumming etc, telling myself 'must stay awake' etc) but most of all find it best to simply not worry about whether I fall asleep or not - keeping it simple
