    Dear Uncle Damian,

Yes, I received the DVD's while I was in Japan.

Thank you so much, your generosity was a beacon of inspiration during a very difficult time for me.

I hope I can buy you dinner next time we meet, in order to appropriately return the favor.

    Best Wishes,

      further progress

      Dear All,

So, on the training side... i have done much the same as Mark and Damian have mentioned.

I have taken the first 6-8 sequences or so, and worked deep, understanding the fundamental aspects (internal and external structures, footwork, etc..) that allow the Chin-na to take place, and in the process have found some interesting progressions!

But now, for a change of pace, I am going to adopt a more well balanced approach.

One of the other halmarks of this course was that we did not only learn advanced Chin-na, but also advanced, striking, kicking, and felling!

So in order to gain the most well balanced practice, i will now be picking from the higher Numbered sequences, to also work simultaneously on the other advancements we made at the course!

      Best Wishes for your training!

It has been a little bit since the course has ended. Even with the videos, thanks to the Kissey Family, I am so amazed by how deep and wide this course was. The Ocean of Sigong's teaching has humbled me in ways I thought not possible...I practice as thanks.

Also, not much has been said about the benefit we all received with Sifu Chua being there as well. Not many have mentioned him so far, so I will post a little. Sifu Chua, is a master of Shouting Crane (MingHe) Kung Fu. His lineage also stems from the southern Shaolin Temple.

His humbleness and dedication to the art, extreme heartfelt desire to share openly and generously, and graciousness to be present in an environment that 'was not his own' was truly impressionable. He highlighted and reiterated many of Sigong's most crucial points of combat, and shared many secrets in the open. We were all very privileged to have him there as well. His example stands for much inspiration.

        Thats all for now...

        Blessings,

        Adam

I am very sad to hear this. I remember the late Chua Sifu as someone animated and enthusiastic at the dinner table when talking about kungfu, and it was a rare pleasure for me to listen to him speak about White Crane kungfu.

Although he was a smoker, he seemed to be in otherwise good health, so this is a quite a rude shock.

                        Compassion & Fighting

Sifu once said : seek balance , give and take , sometimes even life ; ie in life , sometimes we have to give up our lifes for others and some situations we have to take life .

I have been reviewing the Qinna sequences on DVD again recently after some lapse and discovering things that i did not hear during the course itself . Thanks to modern technology .

How is you practise going on Sifus ?

Congratulations , most of you Qinna participants have been certified instructors by Sifu recently .

                          Hello Dr Damian

I really hope I will get to meet you in October.

I was wondering if those who had attended the Qinna course last year and who would be attending the Advanced course in October would be willing to film an overview of the 72 sequences.

I am slowly making my way through the DVDs, but I am so far only at DVD #6, because I keep going back to reinforce the basic points. Sifu had spent several hours on the first 5 sequences (I remember repeating one sequence for 40 minutes Also, I kept in mind Sifu's "6 month" advice.

But like Adam, I was getting concerned that I would be out of touch with the later sequences. Do you think it would be helpful if we split the 72 sequences among a number of us, and film a short video as a quick reference guide (and at the same time, it would be a good revision). Although, given there are 72 sequences, the video will probably still be an hour long even if each sequence is a minute or less.

                            Dear Wuji

Both Gregg and myself will be in Penang and would be very happy to help with this in any way. Mind you that with the Tiger-Crane, Staff and Sabre that I have done little Chin Na in recent times.

I will certainly help and your suggestion is wonderful. Lets keep the memories of that extraordinary course alive.

                            Best wishes

                              Dear Wuji ,

Looking forward to see you , Greg and Mark H at the coming combined course : with the expected intensity of this course , videoing the Qinna sequences may not be ideal .

However , we can do revision together with each "specialising " in a number of sequences ( i volunteer 50-72 )

                              Best regards ,
                              Damian Kissey
