    Hi All,

It's been a while since I posted but I still read the various messages at least every other day.

I just want to share something and see if anyone else has had anything similar.

For the last few months I have been experiencing a 'feeling' in the palms of my hands. The best way I can describe it is as if I have a build up just under the skin and that they are ready to burst open.
The feeling is not a bad one, in fact I feel as though it is something good that I want to share.

I have resisted placing this on the forum previously as the experiences and benefits I have got through my own practice still seem a little hard to believe and this is daftest sounding yet

I would appreciate any thoughts members want to share.

    Cheers,

    Richard

At times, my palms feel like they are going to explode. So far, they haven't.

At other times, I feel as if I can chop down a tree or smash a wall. So far, I haven't done either.

Anyone remember Harry Hill's clown union?

Perhaps you're turning into the clown with the massive hands?

Don't worry, Ben Kingsley is never behind the door

        Myself, I get tingly fingers.

One of my favourite pieces on the web is a transcript of a lecture by Master Li Ya Xuan
        You can find it here:

"After practicing awhile you should feel your palm and the inside of your fingers, i.e., the belly of the fingers, should feel the fullness of qi and intention."
        Chris.

I get a feeling like that sometimes chris, almost like a small electric current running through my hands, but when i get this feeling my hands dont feel too heavy.
Althought its not always like this, sometimes its like ive got 20kg weights attached to me...
The other night my fingers started to twitch, which felt weird but pleasant. It was like my chi was running around in my hands trying to jump out. Thats the only way i can think of describing it.

            Hi Guys,

            Thanks for the replies.
This is a feeling that I get all the time, even when I am not practising. It is not something that I am worried about, but I do think that I should be doing something with all that built up energy.
I am just looking at the palms of my hands and fingers and the are like a blotchy red, and incredibly warm.
There must be something I should be doing?
            I appreciate any help.

            Cheers,

            Richard

              Hi Richard ,

I used to often worry about those sorts of things . I used to think , 'why are my palms buzzing with electricity , while my back is sore . Shouldn't my chi go there and make itself useful ? ' . The thing is , if you are practising correctly , and you trust your Chi to do what it needs to , it will do just that .

Chi built up from practise will go where it is needed most . Sometimes , it is needed in places you would never have guessed .

                Hi Richard,

Kevin have a good point there. As long as you have no other symptom, such as, tachycardia( heart beat faster than 80 per minute in rest), restlesness, insomnia, constipation, chest oppression or other dyscomfort, you don't need to be worried.
On the other hand, if you have any symptom(s) which I mentioned above, you might have the side effects of unbalanced Chikung practise.

                  Thanks Guys.

I have no other physical problems. Like I said, the feeling isn't a bad one. In fact, I feel pretty good.
I'm just wondering if I should learn to transmit some of this excees Chi to others?

                  Cheers,

                  Richard

                    Richard,

First a congratulatory note on your newest experiences .... and also to those others who are having/have had similar. The experience of expansion is wonderful but is not necessarily and indication of a lot of chi. It can also merely be (as one example of many) the manifestation of chi now flowing more strongly in a particular area.

By the way (excuse me if I missed this somewhere) how long and what have you been practicing?

There are probably very few people in the world (if any) who have "excess" chi. Some very generous Masters do "donate" some of their chi to others to assist them in becoming healthy etc. But they know exactly what they are doing. They know how to avoid backflow of (negative) energy from the recipient. They know how to, when to and where to (and also not to) apply their skills. They know how much is good and not good for both the recipient and themselves and when it is enough. They know how to cleanse themselves after such a transmission and how to re-charge themselves. They should also have a large reserve. Unless you have all these skills and this knowledge, transmitting chi to others can be risky.

Before attempting to help others ---- which is extremely noble --- a person should be healthy and full of vitality themselves. Then they could learn / develop the skills required.

                      Hi WahnamCH,

By the way (excuse me if I missed this somewhere) how long and what have you been practicing?

I have been practicing seriously for about 3 years. I practice a form of Tai Chi Chi Kung.

Before attempting to help others ---- which is extremely noble --- a person should be healthy and full of vitality themselves. Then they could learn / develop the skills required.

I couldn't agree more with you, and what you said earlier about Masters and transmitting Chi. I think that I enjoy what I do so much, and feel so many benefits from my own practice that I am probably over excited and a bit misguided in my benevolence.

                      Thanks again,

                      Richard

                        Hot Hands

                        Hey Celticdragon,
I get hot hands when I practice chi kung. My chi flows tend to be quite energetic, as I tend to just let go of myself, so I go on a bit of a rampage every time. I use my hands to warm the rest of my body, by skimming them just over the skin. It seems to be what the chi is telling me to do, so I just follow. Your own chi might tell you to do something different, and if it isn't telling you to do anything...well there's a quote from the Tao Te Ching which says

                        If no action is taken
                        Harmony remains.

When the right action arises, take it! Just don't look for it.

                          Chee Kim Thong heating water

And by the way, has anyone seen the video of Chee Kim Thong, recently deceased Grandmaster of Wuzuquan and former Sifu of Wong Kiew Kit, heating water with his bare hands? It's quite something. He heats four small bottles of water to 65 degrees celcius in less than 20 seconds. You can see the bottles bend in his hands as the heat melts the plastic. Bleepin' hell!

                            Swelling hands

                            Hi all,

I seem to have somehow missed this thread, but am glad i read it because i have also begun to notice changes in my hands. Interestingly, the feeling of fullness or swelling in my hands does not manifest during chi kung practice, but during and after i go for walks, or do push ups (as shown in Sifu Wong's excellent "Introduction to Shaolin Kungfu"). I think though that my hands actually swell a bit because my rings are tighter (I don't wear them while practicing chi kung). Sometimes I am aware of tingling sensations in my palms if I stand up and move about after sitting at the computer for a while. Most recently I took part in a rowing competition, and had no blisters at all while others hands were very sore afterwards. My hands are soft and not calloused, as I have been doing mainly lab work.
These sensations don't worry me at all, it seems though that they have been building so gradually that i was only really aware of them after reading this thread and thinking, "Hey, that sounds familiar!". Isn't this common though in chi kung?

                            All the best,

                            Kevin.

I have the EXACT same experiences you have halicryptus . Whenever I go for a simple walk or jog, or do push ups and pull-ups, my arms and hands swell with chi for whatever reason. It also flows downward into my legs and feet. Whenever my arms and hands are full of chi, and I wave my arms slightly, I feel as if I'm moving a powerful magnet. "Powerful" meaning that I can sense it in my head. It's weird. I only had that sensation recently.
