Help with Sifu's workshop in London July 27th

As some of you may know Sifu Wong Kiew Kit has agreed to run a one day Chi Kung workshop for Alternatives in London on Sunday July 27th.

Alternatives are doing their own announcements for this workshop and inviting their members/mailing list. However, there is also an opportunity for us to let other groups of people know this event is happening. Even if they can't make the event it will introduce people to Shaolin Wahnam in the UK and they might contact Marcus or other instructors to come to other classes.

Sifu Marcus has had leaflets printed that explain what the event is about, with details about Sifu and Shaolin Wahnam in the UK.
If you are willing to help with distributing these to people/groups please let me know and I will send you some.

My idea is that accupuncturists, energy therapists and martial artists would be ideal groups to pass leaflets on to. Also if you have local health food or alternative health centres they might be happy to let you put one up in their window. If you can think of other places then great.

I wanted to attach compressed and full-size PDFs of the leaflets for you to look at - some great pictures of Sifu. Unfortunately, they are all a bit bigger than the max file size allowed. If anyone wants to see them pm me your email and I will send them to you. If you want to print a couple out then, as a leaflet, they look great double-sided.

Alternatives is a very well known organisation in "alternative" circles in UK. It hosts people like Eckhart Tolle, Deepak Chopra, Tony Buzan, Dan Millman. Alternatives see it as a great opportunity to have Sifu make himself available to do this workshop. It is also a great opportunity for Shaolin Wahnam UK to raise our profile.

Check it out - you might be able to help

As this is such a great opportunity for Shaolin Wahnam UK and is time critical I will ping this thread back into everyone's attention every few days.

Clarification

Based on a couple of responses I want to clarify something.

It is not about just passing details on to people you already know (although that would be great, but I guess you talk to them already about Chi Kung and Sifu).

I am suggesting you identify groups, organisations, businesses in your area that might be interested in attending themselves or would be happy to let leaflets be handed out to their staff or members.

An example. I went to a nature awareness gathering last weekend. I didn't know many of the people there but knew it would attract people who might be interested in Sifu's workshop. I posted up a number of posters and gave out about 80 leaflets, after getting permission of course.

So, I am suggesting you think about groups, organisations and businesses im your area that already attract people who might be interested in Sifu's workshop. This is the essence of efficient and effective market communication.

I know it can be uncomfortable approaching people you don't know and asking for their help. I would say four things:

1. Think of it as good practice .

2. The worst that can happen is they say "No thanks"

3. The combination of the Alternatives brand and Sifu's reputation make this a very credible and attractive proposition.

4. You are doing them a big favour - And most of the people I have approached so far see it the same way.

An opportunity to practise Shaolin Law No 10

Just to let people know, the printed flyers have arrived today and I will now send them out to the people who have offered to help.

Two people have asked me for them so far.

If you live in the UK this is a really good opportunity to generously publicise Shaolin Wahnam UK. Please think about where you could place these flyers to let people know about the workshop. As I said, even if they don't come they might contact Sifu Marcus to enquire about classes at other times.

Maybe you could ask for 50 leaflets and put 10 each in local martial arts centres, acupuncturists, health centres ... in fact anywhere you think people might benefit from practising Chi Kung with Sifu.

All you need to do is pm me with your address and I will send them straight away.

It's a good project. And I agree with Barry. It's good practice.

Even if you're bad at selling, even if you're bad at talking to people, you can still sell Chi Kung to people, with the right materials and the right circumstances. All you have to do is talk from the heart. In my experience, a 3-minute face-to-face or even a phone conversation with a person is worth more than all of my other marketing tools combined. Why? Because people can see/feel/sense the benefits in you, and this inspires them to learn more.

I encourage all of the UK students to help Barry with this project.
