  • Farewell from Grammatoncleric

    Dear everyone,

I am writing to let everyone know that I can no longer consider myself a Student of Shaolin Wahnam - some signs are leading me in another direction. Thank you for being my friends, and sharing with special parts of you via this forum. I will pray everyone finds what their heart is looking for. I will no longer be posting on this forum, but I will however read any farewell messages that are given to me because I realize the time and energy that is graciously taken.

I have learned alot from this forum, I have been humbled many times, and learned a great deal.

Thank you all for being my friends.

    Dear Sifu Wong,

Thank you for accepting me into your family, thank you for opening my heart, and allowing me to have a truly life changing experience at the Intensive Chi Kung course.

    Dear Sifu Marcus Santer,
Thank you for teaching me, and sharing with me a wonderful and inspirational conversation after practice.

    Dear Mark,

Thanks for sharing a fit of uncontrollable laughter with me at the intensive Chi Kung course.

    Dear Sifu Tim Franklin,

Thank you for your wonderful and inspiring presence at the Summer 2005 camp.

    Dear Barry,

Thanks for being part of one of the greatest times in my life, at the summer camp 2005. I received love that I hadn’t felt from strangers before, from you and others on the course. Thanks for the laughs, and if you see the Irish guy, and Clive thank them for me as well please.

    Dear Sifu Darryl,

Thank you for helping me to see beyond the violence of martial arts, to their intended purpose.

    Dear Sifu Anthony,

Thank you for taking to the time to try to help me when I needed help, and thank you for being a wonderful administrator.

    Dear Jamie,

Thank you deeply, you gave me what I needed.

    Dear everyone (again),

    Trust me on the sunscreen.

    Check out this young lady, the best album I’ve ever brought;

    For all you hip hop heads;

    Many Blessings,

    Marcus Watts

      Dear Marcus,

How many times are you going to leave?

A better question might be: Why is it that you feel that you need to be so dramatic with your coming and going? We've changed your user title more than any other member -- back and forth between "Shaolin Wahnam Student" and "Registered User". Today I changed it for the last time. Enough.

Your behavior begs the question -- why leave at all? Don't get me wrong. At this point, I think it is best for you to leave. And by that, I mean best for you. At the same time, it is also better for us to focus our time on deserving students.

But I would suggest that you ask yourself why you squandered a precious opportunity. As I told you several times, Sifu does not require his students to learn only from him. They are welcome to learn from other masters. I myself have learned from over a dozen. But do you think that every time I go learn from another master, I come on here and, in dramatic fashion, announce my departure from Shaolin Wahnam?

You won't be posting any more, but you'll be reading the farewell messages? Are you serious?

You've been fickle about Shaolin Wahnam for a long time. And we were patient with you. I myself answered many of your questions via private message, and spent a lot of time on you in various ways. In fact, I was just about to answer your latest private message when I saw your post. I'm glad that I didn't waste any more time on you.

Go. Shaolin Wahnam is not for you. Our school is not only a bad match for you, but you are a bad match for us. We don't want students who are fickle, who repeatedly run off in search of fairer weather, or who dramatically change their minds back and forth. If you don't think that Shaolin Wahnam is teaching some of the best chi kung and kung fu to be found anywhere in the world, then you are right. You're not a Shaolin Wahnam student.

I wish you the best of luck on your path.

perhaps he just found some of the other best chi kung and kung fu in the world? afterall it is a vast and varied place... filled with endless experience... none better, none worse... just experience. why cling to the notions of better or worse?

            Here we go...
hopefully I won't feel compelled to reply to another post.

            Dear Anthony,

I was quite shocked to read your post.

How many times are you going to leave?
This is my second... and the absolutely 100% guaranteed last (agreed by both parties).

A better question might be: Why is it that you feel that you need to be so dramatic with your coming and going? We've changed your user title more than any other member -- back and forth between "Shaolin Wahnam Student" and "Registered User". Today I changed it for the last time. Enough.
You make it sound like you did it more than twice.

I didn't realize the first time was so dramatic, I thought it respectful to let the wahnam family know of my status. I also thought it was in the spirit of Wahnam etiquette, I sincerely apologize for the misinterpretation. If it was a local school I would go to the club I used to train at and say goodbye to everyone because people here have touched me deeply. It is a probability I'm never going to see or interact with the wonderful people here again, I wanted to try and touch them through a last post as they have me. I suppose I am a bit melodramatic, but I've been helped through depression, over training, and anxiety attacks here, I deeply appreciated the help.

I don't know if I'm interpreting this correct but you may think it is simply because I wish to learn from someone else. That isn't the case, I have reservations about some things I seen (like your post to me), that is the reason why I left - I'd do the same even if I didn't have someone else to train with...

I apologize if you feel it was wasted time. I sincerely learned alot, I'm sorry you didn't feel it was productive in any way. I am sincerely sorry you felt exchanges with me such a huge waste of time, I can genuinely say you helped, and I can only deeply thank you. I'm know the blessings from helping me will come back to you, that is my only condolence.

I apologize for my past sporadic nature, my particular neurosis.

You won't be posting any more, but you'll be reading the farewell messages? Are you serious?
Yes. I may (may ) have touched someone in my time here, I know when people have touched me and they were going away I would want to wish them well.

A question to you - without any malice - why do you feel it necessary to so dramtically denounce me, and banish me from the school?

If you don't think that Shaolin Wahnam is teaching some of the best chi kung and kung fu to be found anywhere in the world, then you are right.
I never wrote that, and that wasn't a reason for me leaving. I know from experience the Chi Kung is of a high level. It wasn't the chi kung it was certain peoples actions I had reservations of.

I've also recently been exposed to something of a equally high level. Like UKI wrote, it's a big world.

Anyway, this should be my last post as long as I'm not called a Nazis or something.

            Many Blessings to everyone.

it really doesn't matter what anyone labels you, it only matters if you let it stick. to label is to judge... when people do not understand something, they attempt to label it in order to justify it by some means... unfortunately this is a mis-perception... it matters not what anyone thinks of you or labels you as. remember that old school rythm, "stick and stones can break my bones, but names will never hurt me!" when you find your path, nothing can stand in your way. peace.

                  Dear Marcus,

I'm sorry to hear about your 100% guaranteed last post. I find this to be unwise, but also very telling. Why exit so strongly? Why burn the bridge? It is obvious, to me at least, that you have strong reasons for wanting to leave permanently.

And this is the crux of my argument.

You mentioned that you are probably not going to "see or interact with the wonderful people here again." If there is a reason I cannot see, then I apologize. But from what I can see, this is entirely of your own choice. You are choosing not to see these wonderful people again.

To me, this is hiding a dagger in a smile. If the people here are so wonderful, then why choose never to see them again? You must have very strong reasons to choose to leave wonderful people who helped change your life.

You mentioned that you have reservations about some of the things you've seen. I suspected as much. And that's fine. We've done our best to explain our stance on various issues. If our explanations don't ring true to you, then it makes sense to look somewhere else. I would do the same.

However, I find it strange that you chose to simultaneously thank us and criticize us. Yes, criticize. You thanked many of us on your way out, but your exit (and your subsequent post) clearly showed that you don't respect us. Otherwise, why leave permanently?

To me, your "thank you" to Sifu Wong sounded like a mockery.

As for your user title, we changed it 4 times, not twice. We changed it from "Registered User" to "Shaolin Wahnam Student" at your request. And then we changed it back to "Registered User", again at your request. Later, you had a change of heart, and we changed it back to "Shaolin Wahnam Student." And today, we changed it back to "Registered User."

You might want to ask yourself why, out of the hundreds of user titles we've changed, yours is the only one we've changed 4 times.

To answer your question, I don't have any malice towards you. Disappointment, yes. Malice, no. Nor did I banish you from the school. I do not have that power.

I'm not banishing you. You're banishing yourself. If you find my reaction confusing, then you might want to think about what your dramatic exit says. Not the words, but the action. After all, actions speak louder than words.

                  Sincerely,
                  Sifu Anthony Korahais

                            Marcus,

We exchanged a couple of private messages. You're behavior here is along the same vein. You have to have the last word and evidently think you are clever in your responses.

This is my last communication with you-thus my last piece of advice--stop kidding yourself about your motives in what you do. You're not fooling others who easily see through it. If you do this, you will stop wasting your own time and that of others'.

                            Best wishes.

the only wasted time is time where nothing was learned... yet there is a lesson to be learned in every instant, so conclusively there is really no wasted time, there is only a perception of wasted time... perhaps it is because it is not how you would spend your time that you call it a waste? if everyone spent their time exactly the same way... life would get rather boring.
