  • mind , body and kick ass moves

dont know if any one watche's the series but it is very insightfull regading the essence of chi.

in the series you will see many shaolin students and other practising qigong ( hard qigong ) for break blocks and bend polls with there next...

but one man modified his own type of qi gong .|>> i beleave it was called si gong....

now every one has seen a shaolin student bend polls with his neck using chi and great concentration ....
but the man who has his own style ( si gong ) could actually talk wehile a sword was press on his neck and bent.

just thought i would share it ....lol

I've seen that series, produced by BBC. It has some genuine masters and much interesting information featured, but it feels a little rushed and "popularized".

If they spent one whole episode with each master and at a slower, less action paced cut it would be a very good show.

      mind body and rushed moves..

      good point omar ...
it did seem abit rushed in places , and should of spent more time with the masters and less with the people on street.

but did you not see the man who adapted his own chi kung , he could talk while bending a sword with his neck ,... the only man in the world i have seen do that with serious concentration.

Yes, its a impressive feat visually bending a sword against ones throat. But I think its a result of "stuntman's triks" qigong and not a highly developed skill like golden bell. I might be wrong though.

Personally I found the Japanese master knocking down oponents and ringing large bells with just his "kiai" very impressive.

Also the swordmaster chopping down an arrow fired towards him midair I found a lot more impressive then the recording of it conveyed. That is skill

          hung, har , hi ..

also the japanese guy on the golf course , who hits all pressure points .

Hm, do I practise chi? Yes, my whole life

However, I've practised Chi Kung as taught by Sifu since January this year, as it is quite different from what you can derieve from reading the books only.

I did kung fu pretty intensively from 2003 to 2006, then I had a break. I'll be starting up again next week at the UK summer camp.

Golden bell is an advanced Chi Kung skill that enables the exponent to withstand hits and punches, even from sharp objects such as knifes and swords!

I'm sure some of the more advanced forum members are reading this while levitating in the lotus position in front of their computer thinking "that is not advanced" inside their houses where the sky above is always free of clouds

                Gentlemen,

After reading your discussion I got curious and ordered "Mind, body and kick ass moves" Series 1 DVD set from Amazon. 4 DVDs, £ 3.98. Not too expensive.
