For my privat training I wear those chinese classics with the cotton sole, but with a additional rubber sole. You can get quite good quality ones from china and they're not as cheap as the common ones.

When I arrived at the course in Crocs, Sipak Andrew told me that they were a NoNo. , but I didn't want to do the course in them anyway.

I like the Puma Speedcats for solo training. I think the smaller surface area of the sole kind of force you to both have better balance and relax more.
For sparring training I like more practical shoes. I usually pack the Adidas superstars
