Hello
I read this book today:
Spiritual Qi Gong: A Practical Taoist Manual for Health, Longevity and Self-Realization by David Twicken.
And I must say that for me is not a good book, The Art of Chi Kung: Making the Most of Your Vital Energy by Sifu Wong is the best, in my opinion!
I was looking for a book that you only read the poems or words or experience of Spiritual chi Kung of the Masters! but this book Spiritual Qi Gong: A Practical Taoist Manual for Health, Longevity and Self-Realization David Twicken was not like that! It have many training words that I have read in many others books, this book by Twicken have only 87 pages and from page 93 to 142 it have only Chinese Calendar that contains information of the 5 elements for hour, day, months and years from 1920 to 2010.
The are some words that have make a really strong feel inside of me, the words are from, the Enlightened Celestial Immortal Wang Chongyang, these words are still on my mind and going to be always, his words was:
you should not read all the books you can and try to memorize them, because this harm your spirit and energy, but rather extract their inner meaning in true harmony whit your mind and abandon the texts when you have extracted their meaning and principles, and abandon this too in turn when you have found its deepest ground, because once its ground its ground it have been grasped, it can be consolidated in mind, After keep in mind for a long time, its essence and inner truth will become a natural part of yourself then wisdom and spirit take off in leaps and bounds, there is nothing they do not pervade and understand, then take good care never to be hasty or nervous about the process, because there is the dangerous that you may lose hold over the inner nature and destiny. So only by attaining the most fundamental inner meanings of the books or texts can you really harbor them in your depth!
So after reading so many Chi Kung Books is enough for me to have this book: The Art of Shaolin Kung Fu by Sifu Wong
Ps. So instead of throw this 2 books( the Taoist Experience by Livia Kohn and Spiritual Qi Gong: A Practical Taoist Manual for Health, Longevity and Self-Realization David Twicken) away I belive is better if I give them like a present to Sifu Markus when I came to Finland, so he can have a pleasant reading time, and if he don't like them too like I then he can do what ever he like, whit them!
Regards
Hugo
