Hey i read that twice i liked it. Incidentally is it just fiction inspired by buddhism or the story of a real figure in buddhism?

I presume it is fiction but most certainly when writing it Herman Hesse was in meditation state of mind or helped by divine soul.

                  Talk to the River

For those who enjoyed reading the book:

Have you talked to the River around you?

Or listen to its Voice? Did you find what you were looking for?

                  With love,

                      the movie version—not quite

There's fairly recent movie about Siddartha starring Keanu Reeves. The director, Bernardo Bertolucci, has made some good films (and some bad ones, too!). It's Little Buddha (1993). Anyone seen it? I haven't. It didn't get very good reviews.

Oh yeh I had seen this film, they keep shifting between the past and the present, the Siddartha storyline happens in the past and in the present there some story about Keanu Reeves and 3 kids.

                              State of mind

Yeah, Keanu Reeves is certainly "the one" actor I think is most bland, although he does have the distinction of having starred in the most movies with the names of US states in their titles:

                              Prince Prince of Pennsylvania
                              My Own Private Idaho
                              Feeling Minnesota

How did we go from Siddhartha to this?
