Hello all,

It gives me great pleasure to notify you of details for the first Shaolin Wahnam Summer camp in England.

12th to 15th July, 9 am to 1 pm -- Advanced Taijiquan.
12th to 15th July, 4 pm to 6 pm, 8 pm to 10 pm -- Introduction to Kungfu Internal Force and Combat Application.
16th July, 9 am to 12 noon, 2 pm to 5 pm -- Generating Energy Flow.
16th July,,8 pm to 10 pm, and 17th July, 9 am to 12 noon -- Golden Shower.
17th July, 2 pm to 5 pm and 8 pm to 10 pm -- Merging with the Cosmos (Sinew Metamorphosis).

Students intending to take "Golden Shower" or "Merging with the Cosmos" must first take, or have taken, "Generating Energy Flow".

Advanced Tai Chi Chuan
Many Tai Chi practitioners have wondered how they can develop internal force and how to use their art for self defence. Here is a golden opportunity not only to find out but to acquire these skills yourselves in just four days! Despite his busy schedule, Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, the author of the highly acclaimed "The Complete Book of Tai Chi Chuan", has agreed to share these secrets here in England. If you do not experience internal force or know some self defence after the course, you can ask for your money back! This course is meant for those who have some experience of Tai Chi. It is a supplement (not a replacement) of what they are currently practicing. Fresh beginners may apply but they will have to work extra hard.

Introduction to Kungfu Internal Force and Combat ApplicationMany kungfu as well as other martial art practitioners are either amazed at internal force or sceptical about it. They also wonder how, if ever, kungfu forms can be used for combat. Here is a golden opportunity to find out. Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit, the author of many kungfu books and well known for his teaching of internal force and combat application, has agreed to share these secrets in this 4-day course! If you do not experience internal force or know application of kungfu patterns for combat, you can ask for your money back! This course is meant for those who have some experience of kungfu or other martial art. It is a supplement (not a replacement) of what they are currently practicing. Fresh beginners may apply but they will have to work extra hard.

Generating Energy Flow
Generating an internal energy flow inside your body, which sometimes manifests outwardly as chi flow movement, is the most fundamental skill in chi kung. You will learn this skill within the 6 hours of the course. You will also learn the wonderful skills to relax, to focus your mind, and to open your heart.

Golden Shower
In this course you will learn how to focus your mind and tap energy from the cosmos to enjoy an internal shower of energy. This golden shower will help to open your physical, emotional, mental as well as spiritual blockages, to overcome health problems, to revitalize your whole body, and to expand your mind and spirit. Participants of this course must first take, or have taken "Generating Energy Flow".

Merging with the Cosmos (Sinew Metamorphosis)
Most people will find it hard to believe that by flicking your fingers three times, you can generate a lot of internal force, which helps to overcome pain and illness, to enhance daily work and play, to expand the mind and spirit, and to experience cosmic awareness. Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit will initiate you into this advanced art to enable you to enjoy these wonderful benefits. Participants of this course must first take, or have taken "Generating Energy Flow".

Costs: Still being arranged, I will post them as soon as possible. There will be discounts for those who pay early and for Instructors of other Tai Chi Chuan and Martial arts schools there is a special offer available (please contact me on samlack99@hotmail.com for further details).

Venue: To be announced, but will be in/around London, preferably with residential accommodation available.

I will post further details as they become available. In the meantime if anyone has any questions or would like to reserve a place on the course/s please contact me on samlack99@hotmail.com.

Thankyou and I look forward to seeing you there :)

Just a quick update for all of you who are interested in the Shaolin Wahnam Summer Camp 2005. I am still looking for a suitable venue, Oxford seems to be fully booked, as does Cambridge (July is the busiest month for conferences in this area as they provide Summer schools for US students ;) ). London is proving to be very expensive :D . Currently investigations are under way in Wales, Peak District and the S.E. of England. My target is to finalise a venue by the end of next week (17th April). I will post again then.

Kind regards

Marcus

Great News!

I have just secured a fantastic venue for the UK 2005 Summer Camp. It will be held in the Dance Studio at the University of Kent overlooking the historical city of Canterbury. The University campus is situated in 300 acres of parkland and if the weather is nice there is plenty of room to practice outdoors.

The University also has over 1600 rooms on campus and with the Summer Camp being held whilst the students are all on holiday, booking a room should not be a problem. Just imagine being within walking distance of the venue, plenty of room to practice on your own or with (new) friends in between classes. All within an easy bus ride to the beautiful city of Canterbury. What more could you ask for? :)

The University is only 56 miles from London and is on main bus, road and rail links making getting there and back effortless. The main website for the University, should you want directions, details, maps etc is: http://www.kent.ac.uk/.

I'd like to thank everyone who has helped me over the last few weeks in hunting for a suitable venue, your help and support has been greatly appreciated.

I look forward to meeting you there in July!

Kind regards

Sifu Marcus...

Could you please tell me if Sifu Wong Kiew Kit will be teaching the summer courses? I have a partially dislocated hip and have been unable to find someone able to treat it here in the US. I would be glad to make the trip out if i would be able to get Sifu Wong to take a look at it.
thank you

Rusted Spear,

Thankyou very much for asking this question. Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit will be teaching all of the courses. They are the first of their kind in the UK and a wonderful chance to learn directly from a Shaolin Grandmaster. :)

Kind regards

Marcus

Sifu Marcus,

Thank you, for your response. I am delighted with the news. Perchance will Sifu Wong be anywhere in Europe before this date? And do you know if there will be a forum where he might be able to take a look at my injury without my interfering with his other objectives?

I would like very much to attend the shaolin Kung fu Course eventually, but i can not easily engage in this now, as i presently have difficulty even walking.

If you have any recommends as to how to approach this opportunity i would be much obliged.

Again many thanks and blessings.

Hello Rustedspear,

To find out where Sifu will be teaching take a look at his website www.shaolin.org, if you scroll down the front page you will find a list of where Sifu will be teaching.

Sifu does not have a formal forum for examining course participants various ailments. You can talk to him during course breaks and he may be able to help, but I cannot guarantee it.

If your situation is severe it would be better for you to contact Sifu and enquire about attending an intensive Shaolin Cosmos Chi Kung course with him. I think that the next one is in Sabah, Malaysia from 9th-13th June 2005.

Kind regard

thank you Sifu Marcus. I am a permanent resident of the US,(from Cameroon) and just found out i lost my passport. I will try to get a replacement and hope against hope to make it to one of the courses. I do not know how severe my injury is. It may be grave for me, but a simple thing to Sifu Wong. So i will try to go to see him in Europe, also as this is most affordable to me.

best wishes.
