Just wondering if anyone else had read the book 1421:the year China dicovered the world? It basically states that in said year,ENORMOUS chinese fleets set off to circumnavigate the globe, successfully ´discovering' America before Columbus and Australia before Cook . I wish i had read this whilst at high school,if only to see the look on my history teacher´s face when i reeled off fact after fact contesting her ´knowledge´. ..anyhoo,i would highly recommend the book to all and sundry, for ´tis a cracking read...D.

Also Erik the Red reached America before Columbus. And he didn't tought it was Asia. 1492 is an important date because after Europeans started their violent colonization of America (which was named after Amerigo Vespucci).
    Indeed i feel a bit ashamed .
Other theories are about South America being colonized by the ancestors of chinese people millennia ago, and were reported on the history book i used at high school, even if considered just theories with no proofs.
