    Hallo zusammen

I have started a thread over in the Chinese section on kungfu classics, and hope that more will subscribe and contribute to that thread. The classics I have read are descriptions of training methods as recorded by masters, but not descriptions or narratives of their exploits. But let's see what that thread turns up, and I will be translating into English the more interesting posts for the benefit of the rest.

I have found the ultimate Qigong Classic Book. Zhongguo qigong dacheng
        《中国气功大成》

Many of the references in Shifu's book "Making the most of your vital energy" are here. There are literally thousands (well maybe just over a thousand) classic writings on qigong. Looks like I will never finish translating it....

In fact, I don't think I will translate anything - I don't know enough and I may end up just giving the dictionary meanings.

            Classic on Taijiquan

            Dear Mauro

I am not sure what you are looking for, but I would like to recommend this book which reporduces some classics of Zhaobao Taijiquan (the book title is below). It is quite a fascinating book, because it describes how the writer came across the classic which contained part of the whole manual written by every one of the first 10 masters. There are some interesting stories about the masters' exploits and some pretty good history as well. Might be what you are looking for.

And get this, if the manual is authentic, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Taijiquan was NOT invented by the Chen family. The manual and classic mentioned in the book goes back to Jiang Fa and Wang Zongyue.

Unfortunately, I don't think I can translate it. I can read every word but a lot of jargon is used, and I am only a Taijiquan beginner.

                    Kung Fu Classics

Good Day! Here are more information about the Kung Fu Classics. Remember that Kung Fu mean Martial Art!

                    Regards ~

                    Hugo Darien Olivares Mila

Six Chapters on Han Fighting mentioned in the Historical Encyclopedia ( Han Shu) – Regrettably no copies exist today!

Two books that survived the fire when Shao Lin monastery was burned down by Chinese militarists (warlords) in 1928. Are: "Records of Shao Lin Monastery" and "Records about Shao Lin Boxing". Both books contain the same data about significant events which took place in the monastery at the beginning of Song Dynasty.

Seven books of Martail Arts made 1080 by the North emperor of china

Martial Art Book by Tang Shun Zhi

Zheng Qi Hall Anthology by Yu Da You

New Book on effective Military Techniques by General Qi Ji Guang

Notes of the Battle Arays by He Liang Chen

On Martail Arts during the Fallow Seasons by Cheng Zong You

Records of Arms by Wu Shu

Fist Classic, Fist Method by Shaolin Monk: Xuan Ji

Internal Boxing Method by Huang Bai Jia

Six Harmonies Boxing Manual by unknown and by Tang Hao

Taijiquan Classic by Wu Yu Xing who found it in a salt Shop in 1852 bears the name Wang Zong Yue as the Author.

The Early Training Hand Manuals were “ closed door” copies or from notes during a teachers lecture, these were for students of that lineage, these are the real secret Kung Fu Manuals, a small numbers still exist in private collections, sometimes that only copie of Kung Fu Manual have goes to the grave when the Sifu or Master die, many were also discarded or destroyed in the Cultural Revolution, because posesing these manuals could cost someone or his life! Many of these original only one copie Manuals were simply born or thrown out by disinterested heir.

Any way the Fist Forms of Chinese Martial Arts were always kept secret before 1900, they were always taught orally and never in writing forms, but if that happened then it was on poems. We must remember that almost those Masters could not read! Except the first one that was Sun Lu Tang.

Lion books Martial Arts Publishing in the only one that have the goal to preserve reprint of old Chinese Martial Arts Manuals or Books, They have published 50 nowadays and many more are coming soon. They have 2000 out of print and 500 that have been published in the early republican Period. They tried to publish first the oldest ones! Many of them they have not read complete yet!

But the true secrets of Martial Arts are: Practice, Practice, Practice and the most likely the only real secret of Martial Arts!

Sun Lu Tang ( he was and remain the most influential author in Chinese Martial Art History) books are the best today of the internal arts: Xingyi, Bagua and Taiji( The Study of Xingyi Spear is unfinished and never published

Tim Cartells Translations of Sun Lu Tang are high recommended

Another good Martial Arts books are:

Jiang Rong Qiao – book- Bagua Palm

Chen Zi Ming-book- Chen Family Taijiquan passed through generations, published 1932

Li Jing Lin, Huang Yuan Xiou – book- The Main Points of Wudang Sword

Jin Ing Zhong-book- Shaolin 72 Arts Practise Method

Shun Hands Boxing by Huang Bao Ting. 1934

The Real Teaching of Bagua Quan by Sun Xi Kun. 1934

Lai Sai Wing-books - Taming The Tiger Fist - Tiger and Crane Fist – Iron Thread Form

Taijiquan by Chen Wei Ming. 1925

Kung Family External Big Hong Fist by Tang Ji Ren. 1933

Chuan Na Quan by Xu Yi Qian 1936

Chin Na Methods Liu Jin Sheng, Zhao Jiang 1936
