Shaolin Winter Camp 2011 details
Dear Wahnam family and forum visitors,
As announced earlier, a grand course event of the Shaolin arts will be held in Lapland, Finland with Shaolin Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit in January 2011, from 7th to 14th of January!
This 2011 Shaolin Winter Camp will host a truly unique collection of courses that offers participants some of the most revered secrets in both Shaolin Chi Kung as well as Shaolin Kungfu.
Our course listing is as follows:
Generating Energy Flow- Learn the best methods for health, vitality and holistic well-being from a fourth-generation Shaolin Grandmaster. Our most popular course, this is an excellent choice for fresh beginners as well as experienced practitioners.
The 12 Exercises of Sinew Metamorphosis (Yi Jin Ying)- Considered the essence of Shaolin Chi Kung, the 12 Exercises of Sinew Metamorphosis are amazingly powerful but rarely understood methods for health, internal force and spiritual cultivation, passed to us by the great Bodhidharma. Learn the internal secrets of Yi Jin Jing along with the complete 12 exercises!
The Shaolin Kungfu Flower Set- The treasured Shaolin Flower set was the speciality of some of the most honored Shaolin legends, such as Ng Mui and Fong Sai Yoke. Equally suitable for men and women, the Flower Set is known for its exceedingly effective combat application.
The Shaolin Kungu Asking Bridge- This specialized Shaolin kungfu course initiates participants into the art of "Men Kiu", or asking bridge. Southern Shaolin push hands, complete methodology for "asking the way", and much, much more!

Shaolin Winter Camp 2011 details
Dear all,
Since there has already been inquiries about applying for Winter Camp courses, I'd like to post some information on lodging options at the course location.
For participants, we'll be offering lodgings at the Riekonlinna Hotel in the town of Saariselkä.
In addition to the comfortable hotel rooms of various sizes, there's also luxurious holiday apartments that offer great facilities at reasonable prices - a very good option for those traveling in groups!
Prices for lodgings:
Hotel rooms
Single room: 102€ / person / night
Double room: 63€ / person / night
(For a room with a sauna, an additional 12€ per night)
Apartments
Three room flat: 140€ / 1-2 persons / night
Four room flat: 200€ / 2-6 persons / night

Regarding air travel,
Saariselkä has excellent connections for international travelers: The closest airfield, the Ivalo airport, is only 25 kilometers away, and offers many options for getting to the location from coaches and taxis to rental cars.

We've successfully negotiated lower prices for apartments during Winter Camp.
New prices are as follows:
Three room flat (2-4 persons)
130 eur / day / 1-2 persons
Four room flat (2-6 persons)
180 eur / day / 1-4 persons
For each extra bed, add 30 euros / day
Apartment payment includes internet, buffet breakfast at the hotel, and charges for cleaning at the end of your stay.

The Shaolin Flower Set - Full Course description
The Shaolin Flower Set
The Shaolin Flower Set (Mihuaquan, or Mui Fa Kuen in Cantonese) is a famed collection of kungfu movements in Shaolin Kungfu. Through the golden age of Chinese kungfu, it has been the specialized set for some of the most revered Shaolin legends such as Ng Mui (Wu Mei) and Fong Sai Yoke (Fang Shiyu), and its influence can be felt in many different traditional styles.
The Flower Set is derived from an old form of the Shaolin Five Animal set, with special emphasis on the snake and the crane forms. The famous combat themes of Flower Set are confusing the opponent and speed; the attacks of a Flower Fist expert can be difficult to even see coming. This is equally due to tactics and techniques as to physical speed.
The combat methodology hidden in the Flower Set is exceedingly effective and rich in techniques, including methods such as "circling hands" (chi sau loong), "continuous kicks" (lin wan thuei) and continuous attacks. During the Shaolin Winter Camp 2011, Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit will teach all this and more - you will learn the complete methodology for practicing the Shaolin Flower Set, including force training, combat application, its tactics and strategies.
Since Grandmaster Wong has learned the set from several sources, the course participants have a very rare opportunity - they will literally get the best from many traditions, such as Southern Shaolin and Choe Family Wing Choon.
The Shaolin Flower Set course is a one-off event not to be missed.
