Dear Shaolin Wahnam Family and Friends,
The famous biblical creation story reminds us that man was given the Paradise to till and tend. Many responsible and intelligent people have also seen it throughout ages that man should live in harmony with nature if he wanted to retain righteous stewardship over it.
In some sense, the natural world is as much in need of healing as we are. This is mostly because over time we have collectively done many abuses to the abundant riches which the earth has generously provided us with.
How to best utilize the internal arts for improving crops and farm animals? I have long dreamed that there should be better, more "natural" ways to keep vegetation and animals healthy instead of showering them with pesticides and excess fertilizers, and stuffing them with growth hormones and antibiotics respectively. For example, would using chi transmission improve both dormant and germinating seeds, and what kind of training would it require do so safely and competently?
What can the internal arts practicioners do to protect the environment from all kinds of abuse and pollution? I think blessing and praying are safe options, but can we do better?
It is only right in terms of balanced economy and ecology that mankind should pay back in kindness for the beauty and welfare which it has received from the mother earth. In due time I would love to see the expanding use of energy arts for "green" applications. It serves a different, but still important need that complements the primary goal which is healing and maintaining the health of human beings.
Looking forward to reading your thoughts on this important matter!
With sincere respect,
Olli
