  • Existence and powers of God

I wasn't sure where to post this, so it's here for now:

"Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able?
    Then he is not omnipotent.

Is he able, but not willing?
    Then he is malevolent.

Is he both able and willing?
    Then whence cometh evil?

Is he neither able nor willing?
    Then why call him God?"

    -Epicurus

    Thoughts?

    kohti taivasta kurkottaa

    Juuret viimein kylmän kiven murtaa
    jos vain ymmärtää odottaa

    In my humble opinion -

God is energy/spirit. God's goodness is available to anyone, but God doesn't force anyone to experience that goodness -- evil comes from people who disallow God from entering their lives, usually through ignorance.

The more you let go, the more God is able to enter your life, if you don't let go, you block the grace of God. If you do let go, then you allow a channel for God's grace to bless you.

    Just my two cents.

The above quote is, to my mind, based on a faulty understanding of what "God" is, as evidenced by the use of the pronoun "he."

I'm with Siheng Charles on this...the anthropomorphism of God opens one up to all sorts of projections which do not exist when this is not in effect....the universe then unfolds as it

        does.....thusly....

Of course we still have our personal preferences as individuated being, but we don't have to project them onto the universe, they are just a unique experience in and of the universe.
