I was having a bit difficulty understanding what are the themes for each poll option. Is this correct reasoning?
#1: The most powerful techniques/skills for unarmed combat
#2: The most famous Shaolin weapons
#3: Classically recognized highest arts in all Kungfu
#4: The origin, the condensation, and the essential skill of Shaolin Kungfu
#5: Boddhidharma's legacy in Shaolin Kungfu
I thought they were One-Finger-Zen, Palm Strike (i cannot recall the exact name) and Marvelous Fist.
If limited to the list above I would say Chin-Na, Dim Mark and Nei Kung.
They are advanced and very effective. And you are asking the question while preparing a Chin-na course .
Perhaps One-Finger-Zen, Strike-Across-Space Palm and Marvelous Fist were the "old" ultimates
I've went with Sinew Metamorphosis, Internal Force and Zen ... as they are the gateway skills to all arts, and without which the ultimate cannot be obtained
I chose Sinew Metamorphosis, Internal Force and Zen, for the same reason as David mentioned above, the correspondence with Jing, Chi, and Shen. Also, because Zen is the pinnacle of kungfu.
Sigung is very clear about the three ultimates of Shaolin Kung Fu. He mentioned them being Dim Mark, Chin Na and Nei Kung.
While I was creating the poles, I produced the triplets out of the blue. So Sinew Metamorphosis, Internal Force and Zen are a nice one. Hehe
Maybe it can be summarized under Nei Kung in a broader sense, thereby standing among the ultimates on the side of Dim Mark and Chin Na.
Honestly during the Dragon Strength courses I was very astonished on the skill required and the depth of Shaolin Dim Mark. It is a pity for those who missed it.
However I did not have a chance to learn Chin Na from Sigung yet. And I am really looking forward to it
I am also not sure when we will have a chance to learn Chin Na from Sigung, hence the last course was eight years ago. I don´t know whether it will be repeated at all. And I think there is a deeper meaning to learning one of the ultimates compared to learning one of many.
With best regards,
Anton.
