Greetings,
I'm a relatively active 38 year old man and in good health but tend to sleep deeply and for long periods if I don't set an alarm. Without an alarm I can easily sleep 9-10 hours daily. Having taken up Qigong practice for the past two months I feel lighter and more energetic during the day, but my sleep still seems like its too much without external controls. What might be the cause of this and how can it be changed? My bedtime routine is quite good: dark room, lights dimmed after sunset, etc. Is it possible to sleep 7-8 hours without needing an alarm clock? I'd really appreciate any advice you all might be able to offer.
P.S. My first time ever doing Qigong, doing the Eight Brocades, I had already slept a full 8 hours, but shortly after the Eight Brocades I became very sleepy and took a two hour nap, which was quite unusual for me.
Thanks.
