  • Wahnam Taijiquan Videos: Secrets Hidden in the Open!

    Dear Family,

    As stated on the sister Shaolin thread; I have recently been researching old Fujian and Okinawan kungfu classics. My small e kungfu enlightenment during this time -- Sifu's body of work available on vimeo is actually much more comprehensive and much deeper in knowledge than any paper text!

    So, let us discuss a modern Taijiquan Classic:

    Wahnam Taijiquan Recent Uploads:

    -> Introductory Wahnam Taijiquan Course
    Introductory Japanese Course, including abridged sequences.

    -> 12 Basic Taijiquan Combat Sequences
    Overview of the basic sequences and sparring methodology from the Blue Mountain.

    -> Introductory Wahnam Taijiquan Course
    Overview of Sets, Sequences, Sparring, Force Training.

    -> Secrets of the Internal Force Masters
    Complete Intensive Taijiquan Course, Penang 2008.

    An amazing depth of knowledge openly presented

    Question to the Forum:

    • What is your favourite kungfu secret -- either hidden in the open, or commonly unknown but openly described -- found in these videos?

    I'll start:-

    How to get to your opponent's back ...and the counter!

    Dear Sihing

    There are indeed many treasures and "secrets" in these videos.
    Interesting enough our students learn many of them right in the beginning - in their first and second year.

    Best regards
    Andrea

      Indeed! It's a bit of a reversal of kungfu history when you think about it

        If a "secret" is hidden in the open, is it still a secret?
        What does it matter then, what it is called?
