Dear Shaolin Wahnam family,
This is a wonderful sutra called Arya Sanghata sutra and it's part of a special set called dharma-paryāyas, or ‘transformative teachings'.
The Sanghata Sutra is a direct teaching by the Buddha that promises to transform all who listen, read or recite it:
"The speech of Buddhas is profound
Sarvashūra, listen to me.
The Sanghata Sutra reveals the teachings,
manifesting in the form of the sage.
The Sanghata teaches, out of kindness,
even through the bodies of Buddhas.
As many grains of sand as the Ganges holds,
in just that many forms it teaches.
It teaches in the form of a Buddha.
It teaches even the essence of Dharma.
Who wishes to see a Buddha,
Sanghata is equivalent to a Buddha.
Wherever Sanghata is,
Always, there the Buddha is."
'Even as the long-lasting benefits of the sutra continue on, when we recite the sutra at different points in our lives, the effect it has on our minds can also shift. The word of the Buddha is not static; based on our shifting karma, we hear it differently as it adapts to match our needs and abilities. In this way, the Sanghata 'grows' with us.'
There are many sources to find further information about the sutra including website, sutra download and videos:
May the Dharma flourish and may all beings awaken their Bodhi Mind.
Happy New Year Shaolin Wahnam family.
With Love & Blessings,
Parveen
