Dear Shaolin family,
Time to start making our aims for 2012 a reality!
The recent Full Contact San Shou Competition not only showed great promise, but also that there are Wahnam students out there ready to rise up to the challenge of winning free sparring competitions.
The Free Sparring Competition Committee is now in the final stage of preparations, which is picking members for the Shaolin Wahnam team of fighters, choosing competitions and organizing the preparatory training.
Needless to say, our success will depend entirely on the participation of Shaolin Wahnam students.
Everybody still has a chance in taking part. If you weren't able to join the san shou tournament, here is what you can do to try out for the team:
Submit a video for the Free Sparring Competition Committee of yourself doing full/hard contact sparring with a partner.
The sparring in the video is expected to feature full 3x3 minute rounds of sparring, using san shou rules.

If you weren't at the tournament, this video is a minimum requirement for trying out for the team. It is relatively easy to accomplish.
Of course, as Sifu Matt Fenton recently announced, the main Wahnam teams will be located in the UK and USA. If you can't join the regular training of either these teams, you can still train with your Sifu or by yourself to enter competitions – the committee will be more than happy to provide advice and assistance whenever needed!
We're looking forward to hearing from all Wahnam fighters.
