  • Schools in NYC

I know this topic is similar to the last one posted, but I'm really lost on how to find a good school that teaches genuine Kung Fu. As the title suggests, I'm in NYC and because of that there are a lot of schools around here, it's hard to validate what's genuine and real and what's not.

I'd appreciate if anyone has any recommendations to any schools/places that teaches genuine Kung Fu around here (and yes, I know that the Shaolin Wahnam family doesn't condone commenting on other schools, but like I said I feel like I'm looking for a needle in a haystack). I've read Grandmaster Wong's article on what to look for in a master and art, but it's still not enough.

I've read reddit posts regarding Kung Fu in NYC and they all have different recommendations, but it's hard to validate if they truly know what they're talking about. It's hard to know if they can distinguish between genuine Kung Fu and non-genuine Kung Fu.

Choose a school that teaches at least genuine KF forms and uses KF forms in ther sparring ..
... and supplement that by following GM Wong Kiew Kit's program here for non-Shaolin Wahnam Members https://shaolin.org/video-clips-15/others/overview.html

From Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit's website at shaolin.org, there is a link to a Shaolin Wahnam school in NYC http://www.shaolin.nyc/.

Sifu Damian also gave great advice in regards to learning Kung Fu.

Sometimes Shaolin.nyc doesn't appear to point to anything(502 error), but Chief Instructor for Shaolin Wahnam USA, Eugene Siterman, is based in that area. Perhaps contact him to see if he offers courses in NYC or if he can direct you to someone who does.

So here are some schools I found, based on Sifu Damina Kissey's advice:

              https://wutang.org/

              http://naturalstylekungfu.com/

Has anyone heard about either of them before?

              Edit: Or of this guy?

Without personal knowledge or experience of a school, we generally do not comment on others just as we would not expect others to comment on our teachings or methods without having experienced them.
