    What If….

    What if I get sick
What if I lose my job
What if …. What if ….

Much of our time is spent in running myriads of such scenarios through our mind that could seem to have significant impact on our daily life. We also find ourselves dwelling on the negative events and experiences throughout our day more than the positive ones. For example, we tend to focus more on unpleasant remarks or comments made by someone, rather than compliments received. Researchers have concluded that the negative experiences and events tend to have stronger impact on our brain than positive ones. In other words, our view of the world tends to be largely negative. They have called it the “Negativity Bias.”1 Additionally, the more time we spend thinking about the negative events and experiences, the more likely we are to commit them to memory, which explains why they tend to linger in our memory longer than positive experiences. Not only does this rob us of the opportunity to enjoy (and live) in the present but also sends us spiraling down into the abyss of negativity from where it becomes difficult to extract ourselves. This may even lead to physiological and pathological manifestations, affecting our overall physical and mental well-being.

So, if we are naturally wired toward negativity, thinking positively evidently seems like an uphill task. The good news is we can train our mind and brain to think and act positively. Although there are an infinite number of things around us to be fearful, anxious, and sad about, the truth is that there are also an infinite number of things to feel joyful, excited, and grateful about. It's up to us to decide where we want to focus our attention. Hazur Maharaj Ji often said that it is just as easy to think positively as it is to think negatively. It all depends on our attitude.

    So:

    What if…. I think positive
What if…. I become a better human being
What if…. I realize my inherent true potential and realize who I truly am.

    Imagine the possibilities!

And these possibilities can become reality by developing the most powerful force in the universe… Love. How would developing love within ourselves make them a reality? Hazur says:
When you are in love, when you are happy within yourself, you’ll find happiness everywhere, even in a little pebble. You’re just dancing – when you’re dancing inside, you’re dancing outside. Everybody you come across looks lovely to you. Everybody looks like a very fine person to you because you are very fine within yourself, you are very lovely, very devotional within yourself. When we develop that love, that power within ourselves, then wherever we look, wherever we go, we find the same Lord, the same power within every one of us. Then the illusion of this world doesn’t bother us at all. Being in the world, we’re not of the world. We’re in our own love, we’re in our own devotion for the Lord. Then this world doesn’t affect us at all. But to develop that detachment, we have to know that this world is an illusion and not be tempted by it.2

However, he also makes it very clear that the dawn of realizing that this world is an illusion doesn’t mean that we withdraw from it as if it doesn’t matter anymore. In fact, he encourages us to adopt an even more kind and compassionate attitude towards it.

If you have a kind heart, a loving heart, you are kind to everybody, you are loving to everybody, you are helpful to everybody. When you are kind and loving and helpful to everybody, you are not attached to any particular person – this has become your nature. We have to develop that. It happens automatically if we are filled with love and devotion for the Father. Then all such qualities come like cream on milk. You don’t have to strive for them; they become part and parcel of you, because then you see the Lord in everyone. You are humble before everyone, loving to everyone, because then what you see is the Lord – not a particular person, but the Lord who is residing in everyone.3
Saints have been encouraging us to know that the divine power that is accessible to all of us within is eager to help us succeed on this path of Love and potentially transform our attitude from negative to positive, with resolve and determination.

    From “what if….” to:

    “I can….”

Dear Damian Sipak, thank you very much for posting the text. The timing couldn't be better. I recently had more worrys and fears because I get vaccinated next week. And I thought what if I get vaccine damage although everyone says that's very unlikely. Now I know what I can do. I can act with love.

In the past my life was loveless and boring. Slowly the blockage opens. By the way my Sifu thinks that I have a karmic blockage and I should practice Cosmic Shower once a week. Despite practicing Cosmic Shower the third week now I think I already get better and healthier on a deeper level. I feel a little bit more free.

Thank you again Damian Sipak and thank you Sifu and Sigung that I am allowed to practice the Shaolin Arts and to learn about cultivating the good.

      All the best

            Hello everyone!

Can I ask a few questions about love?

After reading the text Damian Sipak kindly shared with us I often thought about the word love or the german term for love and then i felt love. Sometimes I was a odd feeling but often I felt very good and for longer and longer.
After the vaccine last week I could only love for a short second and often it felt odd rather than love. I don't know why it changed.
On Saturday I practiced Cosmic Shower and I think that's why I was a little bit overtrained and couldn't activate love yesterday.
Today I can feel love more intensive and longer but not as intensive and long as at the beginning of last week.
How can I feel love stronger and for longer periods of time?
            Is love a skill?

            All the best

Quoted from a sitting meditation teacher from my old school ..same Love , just different words :

                  Q. Love can be a gift, but it also comes from meditation?

                  A. You see, I have discussed many times, the inclination of the soul is always towards its own origin. The needle is always attracted by the magnet. The needle is always in love with the magnet. But if you put weight on the needle, the magnet cannot attract it. It cannot go back to the magnet. That doesn’t mean that if the weight is there, the love has become less. Love is always there. The inclination of the soul is always towards its own origin. That is love. But if we have a weight on the soul – the weight of the mind, of karma, of our sins, of our actions – the more we remove that weight from the soul, the more that love for our origin shines.

When the Lord marks a particular soul to become whole or to become part of him, the weight starts being removed from that soul. That love starts shining. Then we become whole and then we merge into the whole one. So love is always there. Potentially every soul is God. But we have to become God, we have to go to that level of consciousness. Potentially every drop is the ocean, but it has to evaporate and become the cloud and the rain before it can be one with the ocean.

So love is always there in every soul. But for that love, nobody would worship the Father. You find all religious places full of devotees. All the holy places are full of devotees because the pull is there from within to the Lord. And that is love. Whether rightly guided or wrongly guided, that is a different thing. But the inclination of the soul is always towards its own origin. When he marks it, then the weight starts being removed from the soul, so it starts shining.

That is why I say that meditation not only creates love, it strengthens love. It helps you to grow and grow to become one with the Father. That is the love which helps us to become one with the Father; which helps us to lose our own identity, our own individuality; which helps us to become another being. That is love. And that is why we say that love is God and God is love, because love has the characteristic of becoming another being. To lose your identity, lose your own individuality, that is the characteristic of love. Love never wants that the other one becomes like you. Love makes us want to become like another one. In love there is submission, there is merging. So that is why they say that love is God and God is love.

To feel unconditional love is a good sign of progress in one's spiritual practice. It's not something attained, it's simply the result of letting go of all the mind noise covering it up.

Meditating gently on pure love can be helpful in the beginning stages in order to pacify some negative ego tendencies, but at a higher level it's not necessary. It will come naturally through a sincere and genuine practice.

Love, and do what you will.

                      Hello everyone!

Sorry for not answering earlier. Thank you both Damian Sipak and Andrew Sipak for your answers. As I understand it I just have to practice our Chi Kung the way I was taught and love will naturally occur after time.

I think in the past when I smiled from the heart I could hardly feel joy. Now I can feel joy and sometimes little love. But for me smiling from the heart is mainly joy currently.
