  • Xing-Fa (Flow Method) and Jing-Fa (Force Method)

Dear Chinese speaking sisters and brothers,

Can anyone please provide the Chinese characters for Xing-Fa and Jing-Fa, the flow method and the force method?

I analysed the principles in the various methods and categorised them into two main types, and call them the flow method, or xing-fa in Chinese, and the force method, or jing-fa.

    Hi Leo,

Since the terms flow and force methods were coined by Sifu provisionally , i would make an educated guess on the chinese characters used:

    行法 - flow method
    精法 - force method

Those are the wordings that comes to my mind with the closest meaning to form and force methods.

    Hope that helps!

      Force method = 勁法?

      Also an educated guess :-)

Thank you to FJ and Sifu Pavel for your very good guess.

I have received a message from Sifu with the correct characters:

行法 ... Xing Fa ... Flow Method
勁法 ... Jing Fa ... Force Method

So, each of you has been right, at least partially.

        Here is Sifu's explanation:

The Chinese characters 行法 for the flow method are correct. The Romanized Chinese words are "xing fa".

The Romanized Chinese words for the force method are "jing fa". But the Chinese character for "jing" can be 精, which means "essence", as provided by Chi Addict. "Jing" can also be 勁, which means "internal force". The correct term for the force method is 勁法, and not 精法.
Thanks again for your help and "educated guess" and thanks to Sifu for the final solving!

        Best wishes,
