Sabah Chi Kung Intensive - Originally from cha muir
Till today, I am thinking of the wonderful place and the course.
That was an experience that set a benchmark for the rest of my life. I trust everyone else is OK. Sad to say, I fell sick a few days ago - I cannot imagine why since I feel the qi flow strongly. But I am recovering far more quickly than usual. I think qingui said after his first course, he didn't fall sick for more than a year.
I wonder how many of us remembered everything we learnt in the course. There were several details I have forgotten, such as certain steps in the face massage, and in standing meditation. But this does not generally affect my practice.
Hi, we are well! and wish all our friends well in their practice, practice and practice... Dont worry, we may not remember everything all at once although Sifu reiterates the same point over and over, partly because we start intellectualizing. You may at some points of your practice, suddenly be hit by the realization, "oh so that is what Sifu meant!"
One of the wonderful benefits of practising chikung is overcoming illness and promoting health. Remember Sifu often enough say, if all things being equal which they are not ..... Depending on our level of energy, blockages etc. when we first started training, we will not have the same experience. We should also know to differentiate bad pain and good pain; between cleansing and symptoms of food poisoning for example, and take appropriate steps such as see our GP and review our chikung practice. After my first intensive course I was in a pretty euphoric state for 3 weeks then was hit with very very very bad flu. A course of antibiotics and something for the pain & fever helped, I also continued practise 2x a day. When the cough and chest pain did not subside after a month (plus stares from office colleagues), I took extra precaution and did a chest xray & blood test which came out normal. Chi flowing strongly is a good sign, and recovering faster has been reported by many of our friends. Cleansing is a continuous process. Smile from the heart!
adam
p/s would you like to send a PMS for the face massage, and in standing meditation. But this does not generally affect my practice. - - - excellent!
I think I know who "Adam" is - you mentioned you were using this name in the forum. If I am right, I was the one who said you must be practising "Carrying the Moon" all the time. But I use "Wuji" in this forum, my favourite of all names as it is the name of my favourite wuxia (classical Chinese hero).
I said in my last post that i am still thinking of the place and course, but did not add that I miss the people more. I went to Sabah with some apprehension but at the same time with much excitement, and came away with exuberance and serenity.
I have been telling my family and friends about the K family. I really really enjoyed their fellowship, and they were a major reason why I felt sad when the course ended.
I think the most important I learnt was how to be relaxed and/or enter into a qigong state of mind (in my opinion, not the same thing). With that skill, even if there are minor mistakes in my form, I still feel the qi surging within me. That skill opens all the other doors. I had read Sifu's book inside out and practised from them, but could never achieve that state. But once relaxed, even my Taijiquan improved tremendously (My Taiji was not taiji dance and we did practice qigong, but Sifu's teaching enhanced my practice).
And as many have remarked in this forum, the experiences vary from day to day, with some days my having more intense sensations that others. Now i know what Sifu means when he says "You will know qi when you feel it" - it can be tingling, it can be numbness, it can be like ants crawling and it can also be none of these.
I could go on and on about what I learnt from the course (which can be surprising to some - what can one learn in only 3 days, and only 4 hours a day at that?) but I don't want to hog space. All those other participants, how have you all been?
Hi, sorry PM is private messaging (as in not to hog space ). True, the teacher, the students and the art all combined to make our experience as it is. Keep smiling!
