About Zen Treasures
The name that Sifu Mark chose for his school has a few different meanings and possible interpretations.
Zen has become the most widely known term for Chan. The meditation and practice that Bodhidarma developed, and has spread from the Shaolin Temple.
The term treasure to represent the precious arts and teachings that has come down from the Shaolin Temple through the Shaolin Wahnam Lineage and Sifu Wong.
These arts are Chi Kung, Kung Fu and Zen (Chan), with Zen being the highest and most precious of the arts.
The Zen Treasures Logo is three circles within a circle and is meant to be hand drawn. The logo can be represented in various ways. The outer circle can represent Shaolin, what it was, what it is and what it will be. The three circle within represent the three treasures of Chi Kung, Kung Fu and Zen. And the process of how they have developed and influenced the people of Shaolin.
The Logo can also be interpreted as the human being and the potential with in. The outer circle shows the boundary between the inner and outer enviroment of a person’s existence. The three circles can be Jing, Chi and Shen ( Mind, body and energy). This according to Chinese Medicine, are the qualities that make up a human being.
The Logo could also represent Heaven, Man and Earth with the Universe encompassing them etc. It is a symbol that can have many representations.
Sifu Mark was looking for a name for his school that would encompass all the aspects and wonders that Shaolin has inspired through the generations. He has seen a living example of Shaolin in the way that his Sifu conducts himself and lives his life.
It is Sifu Mark intention to carry on this manner and do justice to both his Sifu and Shaolin
