Shaolin Wahnam Summer Camp
2013
2013
Introduction
The Shaolin Wahnam Summer Camp is an annual, international event that allows people to learn high-level Shaolin Arts directly from a lineage holder,Shaolin Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit (Sifu Wong). For 2013 it will be held in Guildford, Surrey, UK from 13th July to 20th July inclusive.
The courses this year include Three Treasures of Qigong (Chi Kung). They cover the key skills of Chi Kung from Self-Manifested Chi Movement to Pulsating with the Cosmos – including a course Sifu Wong hasn’t taught for nearly a decade.
The Kung Fu course is XingyiQuan, what Sifu Wong refers to as “Kung Fu for Generals”. Sifu Wong considers this the ultimate art for learning how to implement the element of threat in a safe way. He has also said that anyone learning XingyiQuan at this Summer Camp, even if they never practice the art again, will be able to handle any attack and apply any martial pattern.
This year is a special year. For the first time ever there will be a “Tribute to Sifu and the Past Masters” given by grateful Masters and students from around the world. This will be a demonstration of many of the Shaolin Arts, showing our appreciation that Grandmaster Wong Kiew Kit has succeeded in his aim of keeping genuine Shaolin Arts alive.

XingyiQuan: Kung Fu for Generals – 16th to 20th July
XingyiQuan is one of the three internal Kung Fu styles known by Kung Fu circles, the others being Taijiquan and Baguazhang. It’s essence is simplicity and internal force. The few patterns of Xingyiquan look simple but are profound enough to handle any attack and “go in” with safety assured.
XingyiQuan trains mental clarity, internal force and combat application in a simple but profound art. The benefits of learning this art at the Summer Camp are to:
Sifu Wong will also explain how these benefits can be used in everyday, modern life.
During this course Sifu Wong has promised to transmit the secrets of Three Body Stance Training – sharing the wisdom of Yue Fei, the great Song Dynasty general, sometimes regarded as the God of Martial Art.
Sifu Wong considers this course is essential for any Shaolin Wahnam practitioner who wants to apply their Kung Fu skills with an increased element of threat. This is an important component of winning free-sparring competitions.
In Sifu Wong’s own words – “XinyiQuan is profundity in simplicity … it allows us to make simple things profound”. This course will bring these words alive. XingyiQuan is an art that embodies simplicity, directness and effectiveness.
