Please REGULARLY empty your Private Message Mailboxes (Inbox and Sent Messages).

I have (again) received information that IMPORTANT messages are not being received because the mailboxes of the recipients are full. Such a shame!

started a topic Private Message System (PM)

    Private Message System (PM)

The forum has a nice PM (Private Messaging) system so that members can send each other messages without the need of email. This is a very convenient system but with limitations. One limitation is the number of messages that can be stored per user. This is currently limited to 50 messages. Once this number of messages has been stored, no further PMs can be sent or, more importantly, received.

To avoid missing messages from fellow members or instructors, please regularly empty your PM folders as follows:
    - go to the "settings" menu at the top right of each page
    - on the new page, select "edit folders" from the left hand menu
    - for each folder you wish to empty, just click on "empty folder"

That is the easy way. If, for some reason, you wish to keep some special PM then it is better to selectively delete the messages you no longer need as follows:
    - go to the "settings" menu at the top right of each page
    - on the new page, select "inbox". This will take you to the list of your received PMs
    - for each message you wish to delete, select the checkbox next to the message
(P.S. at the bottom of the page you will see a counter that shows you exactly how many messages you have in your saved messages folders and your total limit)
    - at the bottom of the messages list, click on the box "selected messages" and select "delete" and the "proceed"

Once you have deleted the desired messages in the inbox, repeat the procedure for "sent items"

By regularly checking and purging your PM folders, you can be sure of getting all of the messages you should be getting.
