  • Northern Shaolin Temple visit Part 6...

    More...

    Kungfu Hall ? The name sounds unlikely to me…

    <img src="http://www.wahnam.com/Discussion/dansimages/19.jpg" style="border:0;"/>

    As you go into ‘Kungfu Hall’ there is a narrow passage on the left, which was in a poor state of repair, it was not meant to be seen by visitors, but gives some idea of how much the Temple is a tourist attraction, the other passages like this held mobile barriers to block entry to halls, and toilet signs, and bins.

    First of the statues on the left as you enter ‘Kungfu Hall’ shows monks in meditation. Interesting that this hall was built in 1984, I wonder if it had a forerunner that was burnt down. Anyway the statues of the monks in various poses did not seem to show happy people, they all looked angry or confused. I am sure that this is an error….

    You can see here how in the middle of ‘Kungfu Hall’ is a picnic area and a stage area for Wushu demos. There is also a shop selling souviners in the top left, playing music, but it is obscured by the tree.

    More soon.

    Including;

    Why the french man was dressed as a Shaolin Monk,
    Why he had a video camera but had not used it so far,
    What was in the bag that Shi De Cheng was carrying,
    The Shaolin Temple take away,
    The car park next to the graveyard.
