  • Zen/Kung fu in daily life

    Dear Brothers and Sisters

I would like to hear from you, if and how you occupy yourself with spiritual cultivation and what kind of experiences you have made with Zen/Kung fu in daily live.

I know these are two issues but at least for me they’re not dividable anymore.

    ************************************************** ******
    I’ll start off with my own;
About a year ago I started worshiping Buddha and GuanYin and reciting some Mantras before my Kung Fu Training in the morning. The effect of which is that I could go into qi flow immediately but mostly I save it for later.
About two month ago I started meditating for approx. 15min. in single lotus position after my Kung fu training and my live has changed abruptly and fundamentally

    1. Easily said; I’m as cool as a cucumber, I can’t even remember when I was upset or annoyed although it isn’t so far away, it seems like if even the memory of these feelings have been deleted. In People I really disliked before I’m now able to find something positive or at least they don’t touch me anymore.

    2. I walk through live with a deep feeling of happiness and once in a while I catch myself smiling from the heart. Sometimes I feel a deep indescribable affinity with everything creeping and crawling and with all unscented things (stones, plants, streets, cars, lampposts etc.etc.).

    3. From time to time when I give a gentle thought I can merge with what I am doing at the moment, like melting with the action, at least that’s how it feels.
There would be lots of examples but here’s a recent one; I was just cutting tomatoes. A gentle thought “be here, now” appeared and it felt like if as I was me, the knife and the tomato that’s being cut. There really was a physical feeling and nearly no thoughts anymore.

    4. I believe that Dan tian breathing appears sometimes when I meditate, but I’m not sure, I just don’t worry and enjoy myself. The course with Sigung in august will show if it is…

This is more than enough from me , now I’d like to hear from you.

    Kind regards Pat

    Hello brother,
I am glad to hear of the wonderful benefits that you have attained. I guess for me I have found that what is beginning to happen is a greater patience derived from peace. Or more accurately I feel this framework or foundation being put together, like a shelter being constructed within.
At the same time, this shelter radiates power and light and I find that these arts tend to internally change you ni a way that improves the lives of everyone around you.
I am still a work in progress but I want to thank you for this thread since it reminds me that I need to practice on smiling from the heart more.

    Shaolin Salute,

      Hi Ray
I see you have attained great benefits to, and there will be more as you go on..
In my case they come in bigger and smaller batches from time to time and leave me for a day or two untill I go back to daily routine.

I am still a work in progress but I want to thank you for this thread since it reminds me that I need to practice on smiling from the heart more.
      So am I & so do I
